IT-Security Act

 On 17th July 2015 the amended BSI(Federal Office for Information Security)-statute (from 14th August 2009) came into effect.


Critical infrastructures are affected by this amendment.

Critical infrastructures are institutions, constructions or parts of it, which


1. Belong to the sectors of energy, information technology and telecommunication, transport and traffic, healthiness, water, food, finance and insurance industry,

2. Are of vital importance for the functionality of the commonwealth, because there would be a considerable bottleneck supply for the public safety, if the infrastructure suffers a blackout or disturbance.


Penalties may apply to any person who does not comply with the requirements of this statute.
